Relocation of Post Office

See Below letter sent To Minister Bruton. 28/12/2018

Minister for Communications Climate Action and the Environmen

Dear Minister Bruton

I am contacting you regards the Post Office in River Valley Swords.

I recently received an email from you on the 19th October 2018 in response to my email to you on the 15th October 2018

My letter of that date requested that you confirm or deny the impending closure or relocation of the post office in River Valley Swords. In your response you indicated that the post office was not closing and that An Post were in discussions with regard to sourcing someone to take on the franchise, you did not mention anything in your reply about the possible relocation of this office

I have been contacted again by a number of concerned residents as it is rumoured that the post office is to be relocated to another area

River Valley and Brookdale Estates have an ageing population that depend on this post office for many reasons including collecting their pensions, most of these residents do not use electronic banking for various reasons therefore they need access to a convenient local post office.

I am requesting that you make intervention on behalf of the people of River Valley and surrounding areas to ask that the post office is not moved from its present location or if this is not possible that it be located in the general vicinity of the River Valley shopping Centre

Assuring you of my best intentions in this matter

Joe Newman.
