As your local Swords (Ind.) Councillor, I am delighted that the All-weather pitch at River Valley will finally be opened this week. This will be a fantastic facility for the local community. I am so pleased to see this dream come to fruition.
I am so proud to have been a founding member of River Valley Rangers and a member of the resident’s association who fought off the developers of the time who wanted to build housing on the green area where the pitches are now located. I am so glad we had the vision, all those years ago, to see the sporting facilities that would be so badly needed in the area. The fight has now been proven worthwhile
I am also proud of the tireless work I put into achieving this project for the people of Swords since they gave me the great honour of electing me to be one of their public representatives at the County Council. I worked hard to keep this project in front of the county officials and not allowing it to become sidelined.
