A number of people have complained to me while out canvassing about the deterioration of Swords main street.
They feel that the Council are not doing enough to encourage new businesses to locate in the vacant premises near the Castle.
They have also complained about the gaudy appearance of some of the existing premises. and feel that it will discourage visitors from returning.
I will if elected make it a priority to pursue this issue and encourage the council to be creative in enticing quality small businesses to locate here. This will make Swords a pleasing town for visitors and locals and encourage them to do some shopping, as well as availing of the local restaurants in the vicinity.
