Temporary Closure of Forest Road in Swords:

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOREST
ROAD IN SWORDS, CO. DUBLIN
An advertisement was published in the Fingal Independent on 2nd May 2018
advising that an application had been received from GMC Utilities
Group Ltd. for a temporary road closure, from Monday 28th May
2018 until Sunday 24th June 2018, to facilitate the laying of a
new water main and inviting submissions before 4.00p.m. on the
4th May 2018.These works are required on behalf of Irish Water
as part of the Swords Water Main Rehabilitation Project.
A number of submissions were received raising a variety of
concerns and issues.All matters raised were considered and
notified to the contractor.
In recognition of the strategic importance of the Swords Water
Main Rehabilitation Project, the Council is satisfied that a full
road closure is required.
The road in question is:
The Forest Road, Swords, (L2025) from the entrance of
Ballintrane Woods to the junction with Main Street (R836).
Alternative routes available for vehicular traffic are as
follows:
Diversion for North Bound traffic travelling on Forest Road
towards Swords will be via
• Boroimhe Road (L2300) Eastbound divert to Swords Road
(R132).
• Swords Road (R132) divert Northbound towards
Pinnock Hill Roundabout.
• Take 1st exit at the Pinnock Hill Roundabout travelling
Northbound on the Dublin Road (R836).
Diversion for South Bound traffic travelling from Main Street
(R836) will be via
• Dublin Road (R836) divert Southbound towards
Pinnock Hill Roundabout.
• Take 3rd exit at the Pinnock Hill Roundabout travelling
Southbound on the Swords Road (R132).
• Swords Road (R132) divert Eastbound on Boroimhe Road
(L2300).
• Boroimhe Road (L2300) divert Northbound onto
Forest Road (L2025).
