Joe Newman is a hard working local community activist.
Joe is married and has three children and five grandchildren.
Joe has lived in River Valley Swords for the past 40 years and he has served the Swords community during that time,He has served on various committees in the past including the River Valley Residents as well as the Swords Community Council.
Joe is a founder member of River Valley Rangers football club where he managed both senior and junior teams. He also played football with the club and held the position of chairman for several years.
Joe is self employed and has served the people of Swords and surrounding area for many years with his central heating and plumbing skills.
He is presently a member of the Environmental group with the River Valley and Rathingle Residents Association and has been very active with the Tidy Towns Committee during 2013 in helping to keep Swords Town and surrounding areas Tidy. This initiative also helps to build community spirit within the Swords area.
Joe has over the last couple of years highlighted and brought up many local issues with the Fingal County Council . He has decided following much encouragement to put himself forward for the upcoming local elections in 2014 and if successful will continue to work for the local community in a more official capacity.
